INTERNATIONAL / NATIONAL CONFERENCES / SYMPOSIUM ORGANISED

International Conference

The Department of Physics has organised the International conference on Nano Materials (NANO 2005) in our college during July 13-15, 2005. The proceedings ofall the invited lecturers and contributed papers were released during the conference. All the contributed papers have been published in Synthesis and Reactivity in Inorganic, Metal-Organic and Nano-Metal Chemistry journal as a special issue.

National Conference

The Department of Physics has organised the following two National Symposia in our college which were greatly appreciated by many Scientists, Engineers and Researchers both from India and abroad.

    • National Symposium on Acoustics (NSA-99), in our College during September 23-24, 1999 in association with the Acoustical Society of India, New Delhi. As a hall mark, the entire proceedings of all the contributed papers (after peer review by the panel of experts) and invited lectures were released on the inaugural day of the symposium itself.
    • Seventh National Symposium on Ultrasonics (NSU-96), in our College during September 6-7, 1996 in association with the Ultrasonics Society of India, New Delhi. As a hall mark, the entire proceedings of all the contributed papers (after peer review by the panel of experts) and invited lectures were released on the inaugural day of the symposium itself.
    • The Department of Physics has organized a One day National workshop on Nanomaterials : Synthesis, Characterisation and Applications on 29.08.07 with Dr.A. Marikani as Convenor.  Eighty nine participants from various academic institutes and 25 local participants attended the workshop.
    • The Department has organized two days National Conference on Recent Advancement And Development on Materials Science (RAADIMS ’09) on February 20-21, 2009.  Forty participants from various academic institution and 25 local participants attended the conference. 
    • The Department of Physics has organized a One day National level seminar on “Nuclear Power - An economical source of Energy ”on 19.8.2016 in association with Kudankulam Nuclear Power Projectr, Tamilnadu. 272 participants from various academic institutes and 30 local participants attended the seminar.

       

Symposium

The Science Forum attached with this department has organized the Students’ Technical Symposium on the eve of National Science Day, February 28 on every year.
