The Department is well equipped with state-of-the art laboratories and infrastructural facilities in all the thrust areas. Students get a wide exposure and practical hands on training in the sophisticated equipment during their lab sessions.


CAD Lab has equipped with more than 85 Computer Systems with high end latest Configuration hardware. The software available include AutoCAD 2015, SolidWorks 2012, Pro/Engineer wildfire 3.0, SolidEdge, ANSYS 15, LS-DYNA, Materials Studio, MATLAB & Simulink, E Yantra (Design Software), I-DEAS, and CATIA V5R10 etc,.


CAM laboratory is equipped with CNC production Lathe, CNC trainer Lathe, CNC Milling machine, Coordinate Measuring Machine, Vision Measuring Machine, Surface roughness tester and CADEM Software.

MechatronicsMechatronics 2

Mechatronics lab is equipped with HYDROSIM, FLUIDSIM software, Basic Pneumatic trainer kit, Computerized Data Logging System, Design & Testing of Fluid Power and Speed Control of AC Servo Motor.


Distinct facilities like Computerized IC engine Test rig, Computerised Multi Cylinder Diesel Engine Test Rig, and Variable Compression Ratio (VCR) engine test rig, etc., are available


Unique facilities like Friction tester (BAM), Ignition Temperature Apparatus, Infra Red Thermo Meter, High volume sampler, Bursting Strength Tester, Sound level meter, Temperature & Humidity Data Logger, Flue Gas analyzer are available.



Measures the concentration of flue gases in parts per million or percentage and temperature.

The flue gases which can be measured are O2, CO, NO, NO2, SO2



-          Provides data on continuous exposure monitoring of toxic gases, oxygen and combustible gases for workers in hazardous environments.

-          Measures gases like O2, CO, H2S, SO2, NO, NO2, Cl2, PH3, NH3 & HCN


Workshop is provided with High Precision Centre Lathe, Gear Hobbing machine, Shaping, Milling, Planner, Surface Grinder and other conventional machines.


Steam Lab is equipped with Simple horizontal fire tube boiler (IBR) of capacity 600 kg/hr, pressure of 15 bar.


Fluid Mechanics Lab in the department is provided different equipment’s including single stage reciprocating air compressor, two-stage reciprocating air compressor, etc.


Heat Transfer Lab is equipped with various latest facilities to measure different modes of heat transfer includes Thermal conductivity measurement by guarded plate, Thermal conductivity of pipe insulation using lagged pipe apparatus, Natural convection heat transfer from a vertical cylinder, Forced convection inside tube, Heat transfer from pin-fin (natural & forced convection modes), Determination of Stefan-Boltzmann constant, Determination of emissivity of a grey surface, Effectiveness of Parallel/counter flow heat exchanger.


Instrumentation & Dynamics lab is equipped with various latest facilities. Computerized Critical Speed Apparatus to determine the critical speed of the shaft.  Epicyclic Gear train , Speed reducer Gear box, Speed measurement by Magnetic, Optical, and tachometer, Load cell measurement, linear variable differential transformer., Temperature measurement, Motorized Gyroscope , Static and Dynamic Balancing analysis, Balancing of reciprocating Mass, Cam profile analysis and governor setup (Watt, Porter, Proell, and Hartnell) and Compound pendulum flywheel.


Model Room containing more than 60 models. More than 50 wall charts and nearly 300 slides are available. The students are encouraged to work with the model to get practical training.


Carpentry Shop, Fitting Shop, Smithy & Foundry shop, Welding & Sheet metal shop are equipped with conventional machines and equipment
