International Conference on Emerging Trends in Mathematics and Computer Applications (ICETMCA2010), Dec. 16-18, 2010

The International Conference on Emerging Trends in Mathematics and Computer Applications - 2010 (ICETMCA2010) was jointly organized by Department of Mathematics and Department of Computer Applications during December 16-18, 2010 at our College. The Chief Guest of the function Dr.Krishnaiyan Thulasiraman, Professor and Hitachi Chair, University of Oklahoma, USA delivered the inaugural address.

The Guest of Honour Dr.S.Arumugam, Senior Professor (Research), Kalasalingam University delivered the Felicitation speech.

The Valedictory function of the International Conference on Emerging Trends in Mathematics and Computer Applications ICETMCA 2010 was held on 18th December 2010. The Chief Guest of the function was Dr.R.Murugesan, Emeritus Professor, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai,delivered the valedictory address. Our Guests of Honour Dr.R.Balasubramanian, Professor, I.I.T.,Roorkee and Dr.V.Mohan, Professor, Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai delivered the Felicitation address.

NCCSA’16

The Fifth National Conference on Computer Science and Applications – 2016 (NCCSA’16) was organized by the Department of Computer Applications (MCA), Mepco Schlenk Engineering College (Autonomous), Sivakasi on March 5, 2016. Dr. S. Arivazhagan, Principal provided all the support and facilities for organizing the conference in a grand manner. Academicians, Research Scholars and PG students submitted their research papers to the Conference. The Technical Review Committee selected twenty papers, which were included in the Conference Proceedings and presented in the conference. The technical papers presented include research areas like Image Processing, Data Mining, Cloud Computing, Wireless Networks and Cellular Communication.

Coordinator Mrs. C. Premalatha delivered  the  Welcome Address.    Convener  of  the  conference,  Dr. G. Chandrasekaran, Senior Professor & Director (MCA) presided over the Inaugural function and spoke about the purpose of the National Conference.     Coordinator Dr. P. Radha introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering. The Chief Guest Mr. R. Aneesh Kumar, Senior Business Consultant, M/s. SAP Labs, Bengaluru inaugurated the conference and released the Conference Proceedings.

Mr. R. Aneesh Kumar delivered the Keynote Address of the Conference. In the Keynote Address, Mr. R. Aneesh Kumar spoke about the evolution of various computer technologies and how their practical applications make our day to day life easier. He narrated real life stories on how small entrepreneurs have also succeeded in becoming market leaders by implementing innovative ideas. He insisted that the academia should focus on improving the soft skills of the students and make them industry ready before their graduation. He also emphasized the need for encouraging and grooming students towards becoming successful entrepreneurs. Mr. S. Amirtharaj, Assistant Professor (Sr. Grade),proposed the vote of thanks.

Ten papers each were presented in the two Technical Sessions of the Conference. Dr.N. Sivaram, Professor/CSE was the Chair Person for the Technical Session – I. Dr. Kannan Balasubramanian, Professor/CSE was the Chair Person for the Technical Session – II.

Mr. V. Neethidevan, Assistant Professor (Sl. Grade), welcomed the gathering in the Valedictory function. Chief Guest, Mr. R. Aneesh Kumar distributed the certificates to the authors of the research papers presented in the conference. Mr. J. Murugachandravel, Assistant Professor (Sl. Grade) proposed the vote of thanks.

NCCSA’14

 The Fourth National Conference on Computer Science and Applications 2014 – NCCSA’14 was organized by the Department of Computer Applications (MCA), Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi on 5-3-2014. From among the 105 research papers received by the organizers, 50 papers were selected by the review Committee for being presented in the Conference.  Dr. S. Arivazhagan, Principal & Patron and Dr. G. Chandrasekaran, Senior Professor and Director (MCA), Convener of the Conference had made all the necessary arrangements for the conference.

 Dr. T. Revathi, Professor  In-Charge,  presided  over the   Inaugural  Function  of  the  Conference.          Mrs. C. Premalatha, Coordinator, delivered the welcome address. Dr.P.Radha, Coordinator, delivered a Report about the Conference. Mr. S. Amirtharaj, Assistant Professor, introduced and garlanded the Chief Guest. Chief Guest, Mr. Alfred Samuel, Senior User Experience Architect, M/s. Infosys, Chennai delivered the Inaugural address. Mr. Alfred Samuel released the Conference Proceedings and Dr. T. Revathi received the first copy.

 Three technical Sessions were held in the conference. 12 Research Papers were presented by the delegates in the first Technical Session on Cloud Computing and Computer Applications in Management. 10 Research Papers were presented by the delegates in the second Technical Session on Image Processing and Data Mining. 11 Research Papers were presented in the third Technical Session on Wired and Wireless Networks. NCCSA’12

The Third National Conference on Computer Science and ApplicationsNCCSA 2012 was organized by the Department of Computer Applications, Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi on March 7, 2012. The aim of the Conference was to enable researchers to present and share their research experience.

Dr. S. Balakrishnan, Principal delivered the Inaugural address. The chief guest    Mr. Ganesan Senthilvel, Vice President, Enterprise Architecture Group, Bank of New York Mellon, inaugurated the Conference by lighting the Traditional Lamp and delivered the Keynote address on Current Technological Trends in the IT Industry. The Chief Guest released the Conference Proceedings and the first copy was received by the Principal. Dr. G. Chandrasekaran, Director, Department of Computer Applications, delivered a report about the Conference.

Around 176 papers were received from all over the country and the technical committee recommended 51 papers for presentation in the Conference. 31 Authors of selected papers registered for presentation and their papers have been published in the Conference Proceedings. The papers were presented by the authors in the two Technical Sessions. Dr. K. Muneeswaran, Professor and Head of CSE Department was the Chairperson for Technical Session I and Dr. Kannan Balasubramanian, Professor, CSE Department was the Chairperson for Technical Session II.

NCCSA’10

On behalf of the Decennial Celebrations of the Department of Computer Applications, a National Conference was conducted on 4th March 2010. We have received a total of 260 research papers and 80 best papers were selected for registration.

Sri. Raj Prabakar, CEO, FYMCS, Chennai was the Chief-Guest for the Inauguration function and our Principal Dr.S.Balakrishnan presided over the function. During the Inaugural speech the Chief Guest informed the students to develop their soft skill and to make use of the fabulous opportunities waiting for them. He asked the students to equip their skills to transform their status from “Survival to Success”. The Chief-Guest also released the Proceedings of NCCSA ’10 and our principal received the first copy of the proceedings.

The Technical paper presentation event was conducted as parallel sessions in two seminar halls. A total of 18 research papers were presented in the Morning sessions and another 18 papers were presented in the Afternoon sessions.

Sri.T.Srinivasan, Director –Life Sciences, CTS, Chennai, was the Chief-Guest for the Valedictory function. Our Principal Dr.S.Balakrishnan presided over the function. A detailed report of NCCSA’10 was presented by Dr.G.Chandrasekaran, Director of MCA Department. During the Valedictory address the Chief Guest appreciated the quality of the papers presented in the conference and he asked them to apply their innovative ideas in commercial world. The feedback from the participants showed that they were very happy with the way in which the conference was organized. The Chief-Guest distributed the certificates to the participants and the program ended with the National Anthem.

NCCSA’08

The First National Conference on Computer Science and Applications, NCCSA’08 was organized by the Department of Computer Applications (MCA) on March 12, 2008. The main objective of the National Conference was to enable the researchers to present and share their research experience. The response was overwhelming and we received around 150 papers from all over the Country and the technical committee recommended 80 papers for presentation. Authors of 53 papers registered for presentation and their papers have been published in the Proceedings of the Conference. 69 delegates registered for participation in the Conference.

Dr. S. Balakrishnan, Principal presided over the Inaugural function of the NCCSA’08. In his speech, Dr. G. Chandrasekaran, Convener of NCCSA’08 told that it was an important day in the history of the MCA Department, as it was the first National Conference organized by them. Mr. Kathir Kamanathan, CEO, M/s ChellaSoft, Madurai delivered the Inaugural Address.

The 53 papers were presented in four technical sessions, i.e., two parallel sessions in the morning and two parallel sessions in the afternoon. In the morning, we had a session on Image Processing and a session on Data Mining. In the afternoon, we had a session on Networking and Security and a session on soft computing & other areas.
