Seminar On Research Issues In Electrical Engineering – SRIEE’13
Dr.Devaraj, Dean, Planning & Monitoring, Kalasalingam University delivering lecture
Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi organized an One Day Seminar on Research Issues in Electrical Engineering on 30-03-2013. Around 57 participants from various college across the state attended the seminar.
Dr.Devaraj, Dean, Planning & Monitoring, Kalasalingam University spoke about the complexities in the power system operation and the software tools and algorithms to be applied for solving the issues.
Dr.N.Ammasai Goundan, Professor, EEE Department of National Institute of Technology, Trichirapalli briefed about the research issues in the power electronics field and renewable energy. He listed out the developments and future research opportunities in wind energy and solar energy harnessing.
In the after noon session, the importance of simulation has been outlined by Dr.N.Senthilkumar, Professor of EEE Department, Mepco Schlenk Engineering College. He also emphasized the need for understanding the problem first before proceeding to simulation tool boxes. Brief introduction about Power system restructuring and the challenges in the new power system structure has been presented to the participants by Dr.B.V.Manikandan, Professor, EEE Department.
The seminar has been planned to provide the participants, who where budding researchers, the problem and challenges in the Electrical domain area and the tools for solving it. At the end of the seminar, Dr.V.Jayasankar, Professor and Head, EEE Department, issued the certificates to the participants. EEE Department staff members coordinated the above programme.
